Asif joined Rasmala (then European Islamic Investment Bank) shortly after a special situations private equity investor acquired a controlling stake in the bank.

Asif was an integral part of the team tasked with turning around the company from a bank into an investment and asset management firm.

As sole legal counsel, he worked closely with senior management in restructuring the business, which included significant disposals, acquisitions and add-ons (often across multiple jurisdictions). 
 
Throughout his in-house career, Asif has been part of small legal teams responsible for all corporate, commercial, compliance and regulatory matters, dealing with significant stakeholders, group shareholders and regulators, including the Bank of England, the FCA and the Dubai Financial Services Authority. 
 
More recently Asif has worked as a Consultant Solicitor helping SMEs on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including share and business sales and purchases, shareholder and joint venture agreements, share restructurings and option schemes.
