Supriya qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 and has over 30 years post qualified experience with over 20 years commercial legal experience working in emerging markets. Initially working in FMCG, Supriya worked widely in Europe before moving to Johannesburg and has worked from within the region since 2002. Appointed as Executive Counsel for GE Africa based in Nairobi, Kenya she supported all the industrial business with specific focus on the energy sector, specifically in Sub Saharan Africa.

Supriya has wide ranging experience across different industries on all forms of commercial agreements across several jurisdictions including outside of the United Kingdom. Having been in house for several years, she has a strong understanding of bringing practical and pragmatic solutions to commercial issues all with the key focus on getting things done. During her long career, she has built teams, served on boards and management teams to ensure full cross functional engagement and alignment. As a functional leader, she has ensured clear process from supply chain to operations, managing compliance, corporate governance and risk management. Supriya prides herself with ensuring she is focused on delivering to demanding deadlines and ensuring all commercial and legal risks are managed to drive business forward. Experienced in dealing with cross border issues as well as complex M&A including competition law issues as well as employment issues specifically across Sub Saharan Africa. Supriya has her wealth of experience to offer to support business as a thought leader as well as legal business partner.

about me

Supriya has a wide interest in the theatre, reading and lots of traveling to enjoy new experiences other than for work. Supriya enjoys the thrill of tennis, swimming and is rediscovering her love for playing golf She has travelled extensively and enjoys good food and wine and is a member of Chaine de Rotissiers – the original classic gourmet food and wine club.
