With over 20 years’ experience, practising in England and offshore, Tony Christodoulides is a versatile and tenacious litigator.


He represents corporate entities and institutions, individuals, trustees and beneficiaries in a wide range of commercial disputes, fraud claims and trust disputes. His role is to solve your most complex and challenging legal problems by identifying at an early stage the commercial and legal issues whilst evaluating critically the parties’ positions.


He will work with a client to develop the appropriate strategy to achieve the best outcome possible.


He conducts cases in all divisions of the High Court in England, the tax tribunal, the Supreme Court of Gibraltar and before domestic and international arbitration tribunals pursuant to a wide variety of arbitral rules. He oversees litigation also in a variety offshore jurisdictions of which he has extensive knowledge.

Representative Cases:

 

Defending an HMRC attack on a Chinese business with turnover of £150m which set a legal precedent in the First Tier Tax Tribunal and is quoted for insolvency issues.


Acting for beneficiaries against a Trustee in Cyprus claiming breach of trust and beneficiary for interfering with trust assets. This included seeking an order from the Cypriot Court to suspend the powers of trustee and the appointment of a receiver to bring claims against directors of English companies for breach of fiduciary duties.


Acting for a beneficiary and Trustee against another Trustee and beneficiary of a self-administered pension scheme in claims for breach of trust.


Claim for damages as a result of misrepresentations in a prospectus.

Shareholder and boardroom dispute that resulted in winding up application. 



Setting aside a transaction where a company wrongfully obtained mortgages over assets to secure a debt and obtaining a worldwide freezing order preventing the disposal of assets.
